Face and GPS attendance: what actually works on an Indian campus

Attendance hardware is where a lot of school budgets go to die, because the technology gets chosen before the use case. After hundreds of installs, here is the honest map.
Face recognition wins at a busy gate or on a classroom tablet - no contact, no card to forget, seconds per student, and no proxy attendance. It needs decent light and a one-time enrolment photo.
RFID / ID card is cheapest and works for library and transport tap-in, but a card is easy to swap or lend - so it is fine for logistics, weak for a legal attendance record.
Fingerprint is reliable for staff but slow for a crowd of 40 children and hygienically dated.
GPS geo-fencing is the one people forget - and the one that solves staff attendance for multi-branch groups, field trips and drivers.
